Job summary

Cornerstone Project Source in Essex is seeking permanent Hard Metals and Flat Roofing & Cladding Designers. Two roles: 2D AutoCAD Designer and BIM (Revit) Designer. You will ensure drawings are produced on time and to high quality, supporting projects UK-wide.

The position offers an ASAP start, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with full training provided. A strong background in hard metal and flat roofing design is preferred; driving licence is required and proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit is

Qualifications

• 5+ years' hard metal roofing and/or flat roofing and cladding design experience (preferable).
• Full driving licence.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and provide high levels of customer care.
• Knowledge of Approved Document Part B and NHBC conditions (Essential).
• Construction/design-related HNC/HND/Degree (Advantageous).
• Membership of a professional body (preferable but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Ensure all construction drawings and designs are produced on time and to a high-quality standard.
• Manage the development and implementation of design proposals and ensure they meet the client's expectations.
• Adhere to budget constraints to keep the developed design financially viable.
• Present proposals to the client for approval.
• Oversee the design process using technical expertise.
• Maintain thorough documentation of design and development, complying with ISO 9001.
• Keep up to date with changing building legislation and codes of practice relating to design.
• Coordinate the submission of information to satisfy building control compliance.
• Lead the coordination and production of design data, bid deliverables, reports and documentation essential to project and contractual requirements, and report progress against the design deliverables programme.
• Oversee the design of multiple projects throughout the contract period.
• Review and understand architectural design intent documentation to develop acceptable construction solutions.
• Coordinate subcontractor drawings from various trades to identify conflicts and produce a cohesive overall design.
• Review product technical data to ensure product compliance and incorporate it into designs.
• Assist with design schedules.
• Provide design and technical support to all departments throughout the design and construction phase.
• Attend design team meetings and lead the process with consultants and subcontract designers.
• Prepare full site reports from site surveys on progress, quality and compliance.
• Stay up to date with industry trends.
