Buro Happold is seeking an exceptional Bid/Proposals Technical Author to lead narratives for major transport and infrastructure bids. The role is senior, with hybrid UK options across London, Bath, Manchester or Leeds.

You will translate complex technical solutions into persuasive client-focused submissions, mentor colleagues, and shape high-scoring bids in a multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in high-quality bid writing and technical authoring.
• Experience shaping successful, high-scoring submissions for major bids.
• Ability to translate complex engineering content into persuasive content.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the authorship of technical responses for major infrastructure bids.
• Create precise, compliant and persuasive content aligned with client requirements.
• Interpret evaluation criteria and shape responses to differentiate the offer.
• Turn complex methodologies into accessible narratives for clients.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary responses and strengthen contributions from collaborators.
• Review content for quality, consistency, and compliance.
• Mentor colleagues and champion continuous improvement in technical writing.
• Develop case studies and value propositions for infrastructure markets.
