Job summary

Buro Happold seeks an exceptional Bid/Proposals Technical Author at Associate Director level to lead narrative development for major transport and infrastructure bids. Hybrid model; London preferred, with Bath, Manchester or Leeds considered.

You will translate complex technical solutions into client-focused submissions, manage quality assurance, and mentor teams across disciplines to raise publication standards and win more work.

Qualifications

• Exceptional writing, editing and content-structuring skills.
• Significant experience in proposal authoring, bid writing or technical drafting within engineering, infrastructure, construction or government contexts.
• Strong track record of shaping high-scoring submissions for major bids.

Responsibilities

• Lead authorship of technical responses for major infrastructure bids.
• Convert complex technical methodologies into precise, persuasive content.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary responses and ensure quality, consistency and compliance.
• Mentor colleagues and champion continuous improvement in technical writing, including AI and automation.
