Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Senior Bid Manager to lead high-value bid activity from PQQ through to tender submission. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, drive win strategies, manage client communications, and ensure clean, on-time deliverables across portals and submissions.

This role focuses on complex bids (£50m+), requires strong governance of the bid lifecycle, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to optimize solutions for transportation, water, energy, and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Experience managing high-value bids (£50m+) across major sectors.
• Knowledge of bid lifecycle from OJEU to post-tender interviews.
• Ability to re-engineer client specifications for value-added solutions.

Responsibilities

• Compile PQQ documents and tender deliverables.
• Manage Murphy bid processes, procedures, and toolkits.
• Develop and implement win strategies.
• Review scope definitions and produce launch packs for delivery teams.
• Develop bid programmes and mobilise bid resources.
• Coordinate client dialogue and assemble presentations for internal/external audiences.
• Oversee portal uploads and clarifications; ensure timely submission.
• Maintain CRM records and ensure actions are completed before deadlines.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Bid Manager

• Compilation of PQQ Documents.
• Compilation of Tender Deliverables.
• Manage the implementation of the Murphy work winning processes, procedures, and toolkits
• Development and implementation of win strategies
• Review the scope definition within the PQQ or tender documents and produce a detailed launch pack for delivery to the PQQ/Tender teams
• Development and implementation of bid programmes
• Mobilisation and motivation of the allocated PQQ/tender team resources
• Review alternative proposals or re-engineer the client's specifications and design
• Manage all client dialogue
• Develop and compile presentations for both internal and external audiences
• Manage portal uploads and all clarifications
• Ensure all actions are completed ahead of PQQ/Tenders being submitted
• Update and maintain CRM entries

• Full knowledge of the bid lifecycle from tracking of OJEU notices to PQQ, Tender and Post Tender Interviews

• Proactive bid management experience
• Able to cast a critical eye over potential bids
