Job summary

National Highways seeks a Senior BI Developer to lead the BI development within the Performance and Business Reporting team. You will drive data visuals and reporting improvements, partner with teams, and design solutions across the Digital Services Directorate.

Qualifications

• Significant experience developing Power BI solutions with DAX.
• Significant stakeholder engagement to tailor dashboards or reports.
• Ability to read and write SQL code.
• Understanding of data lifecycles and ETL in multi-source solutions.
• Knowledge of data warehousing principles.
• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues at all levels.
• Capable of planning and structuring workload under deadlines.
• Methodical, analytical, and logical thinker with big-picture focus.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key business partner to Digital Services teams to understand data needs.
• Influence data usage across the directorate and drive a data-led culture.
• Develop engaging data presentation techniques and improve reports.
• Identify opportunities to automate data reporting and visualisation.
• Challenge the status quo and create solutions to complex problems.
• Establish best practices for data visualisation and reporting.
• Keep up to date with BI practices and share learnings.
• Support and train the Performance and Business Reporting staff in dashboards.
