Job summary

Birmingham Hospice is looking for a part-time Senior Counselling Practitioner to join its Wellbeing Team. The team provides specialist therapeutic support in bereavement, serving adults, children and spiritual care, in a friendly, professional, person-centred way.

The role involves delivering counselling services to patients, families and bereaved clients, supporting the Service Lead with operational data and triage, and maintaining secure clinical records in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Counselling with advanced training in theory and practice.
• Current registration with an approved professional counselling body (e.g. BACP).
• Experience with loss, grief and bereavement; ability to supervise others.

Responsibilities

• Provide a counselling service for patients, families, pre/post bereavement and bereaved clients.
• Support service lead with operational efficiency, data management and triage.
• Assess needs and formulate an appropriate care plan; maintain clinical records.
