Job summary

Birmingham Hospice is seeking a compassionate counsellor to join our Wellbeing Team in Erdington, with primary location in Birmingham but occasional cross-site work.

You will provide holistic counselling for individuals and groups affected by life-limiting illness, grief and bereavement, and work within palliative care guidelines. The role is permanent, part-time (15 hours) with a Band 6 salary of £37,002–£44,557 pro rata.

Qualifications

• Qualified counsellor registered with a professional body (e.g., BACP).
• Experience and understanding of loss, grief and bereavement.
• Advanced training in theory and practice of counselling.
• Knowledge of at least two psychological therapy models.
• Experience providing counselling in a professional setting.
• Experience of clinical assessment within counselling.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic counselling for individuals and groups.
• Support clients referred by professionals or self-referral.
• Work within palliative care and NICE guidance.
