Job summary

Ambition is seeking a Principal Consultant - Senior Legal BD, Marketing & Communications Recruitment to join a market-leading international law firm in London. You will blend business development, marketing and business management to drive growth of the Construction practice and act as trusted advisor to partners.

You will lead and develop the BD Executive, deliver integrated campaigns, monitor market trends, manage client accounts, and report on metrics to support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Proven business development and marketing experience within a legal or professional services environment.
• Experience working with, or understanding of, Construction or related sectors.
• Track record of delivering strategic growth and client development initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret business, financial and client data.
• Confidence to operate at strategic and operational levels.
• Excellent project management and organisational skills.
• Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
• Strong commercial awareness with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the Construction group's strategic priorities, initiatives and growth plans.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and client developments to identify opportunities and inform decision-making.
• Act as a key point of contact between sector leadership and wider business services teams.
• Develop and execute business development and client development plans.
• Drive client relationship initiatives, cross-selling opportunities and strategic growth projects.
• Support the development and delivery of key client account plans.
• Provide day-to-day business development support to partners and fee earners.
• Manage and develop a dedicated Business Development Executive.
• Create and deliver integrated marketing campaigns aligned to sector priorities.
• Manage the production of marketing materials, credentials, client communications and sector-focused content.
• Oversee directory submissions, awards programmes and profile-raising initiatives.
• Monitor financial performance, pipeline activity and key sector metrics.
• Produce management reporting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Contribute to budgeting, business planning and growth initiatives.
• Support business cases for strategic investments and lateral hiring opportunities.
• Coordinate strategic projects and ensure delivery against agreed timelines.
