Job summary

AIS is seeking a Senior Battery Test Engineer to lead the delivery of advanced battery testing programmes across automotive and energy sectors.

You will design, develop and execute complex battery tests, review technical reports, and provide actionable recommendations. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams and customers to ensure proper test setup, data integrity and timely project delivery, while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• BSc in engineering with relevant professional qualifications.
• Experience in design, development, validation and execution of battery test solutions.
• Strong experience with battery systems, associated electronics and laboratory test equipment.
• Experience with CAN communication systems, vehicle networks and vehicle logging systems.
• Data analysis using industry-standard battery testing and automation tools (Vector, MATLAB/Simulink, C and Excel).
• Qualified to work on high voltage DC automotive systems.
• Able to prioritise multiple activities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead setup, development and execution of complex battery testing procedures.
• Prepare, review and present clear technical reports with recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers for test setup and delivery.
• Provide technical leadership to develop new testing capabilities and processes.
• Support project planning, resource allocation and on-time delivery with safety in mind.
• Drive continuous improvement to efficiency, capability and quality.
• Maintain health and safety standards and governance of procedures.
• Lead customer-facing testing activities and deliver high-quality results.
