Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or related).
• Experience with battery technologies in high-integrity applications.
• Experience planning, executing and reporting battery system testing and validation.
• Understanding of test methodologies for performance, safety, reliability and degradation.
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Verification & Validation processes.
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

The Principal Test & Evaluation Engineer will lead the planning, execution and evaluation of testing activities for advanced battery systems within a highly regulated engineering environment. Working across the full product lifecycle, you will play a key role in validating system performance, safety and reliability while providing technical leadership across testing and evaluation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Leading testing and evaluation programmes for advanced battery systems across development, qualification and in-service phases.
• Developing testing strategies and providing technical guidance on battery performance, safety and reliability assessments.
• Creating, reviewing and approving test plans, procedures and technical reports.
• Managing hazard and risk assessments associated with battery testing and fault simulation activities.
• Evaluating system performance under normal, abnormal and fault conditions.
• Supporting project planning, resource management, technical reporting and stakeholder engagement activities.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or a related discipline)
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of battery technologies within high-integrity applications.
• Experience planning, executing and reporting battery system testing and validation activities.
• Understanding of test methodologies covering performance, safety, reliability and degradation assessment.
• Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Verification & V&V processes
• Strong leadership, communication and technical problem-solving skills.
