Job summary

VG Charles & Co in Birmingham is seeking a Banking Partner to lead a busy corporate finance practice within a well-regarded national platform. The role focuses on sophisticated lending transactions with scope to grow the client base in the Midlands and beyond.

You will advise lenders and borrowers on acquisition and leveraged finance, negotiate facility agreements and security documents, and work with colleagues across practice areas to win new instructions and expand the firm’s regional

Qualifications

Established banking practice with strong transactional experience.
Experience advising lenders and borrowers on financing structures.
Excellent drafting, negotiation and transaction management skills.
An established network of client and intermediary relationships.

Responsibilities

Take the lead on a varied caseload of banking and finance transactions, including acquisition finance and leveraged finance.
Advise lenders and borrowers on bilateral and syndicated facilities and complex financing arrangements.
Negotiate facility agreements and security documents to support financing transactions.
Collaborate with corporate, real estate and restructuring teams to coordinate cross-practice deals.
Maintain and expand relationships with banks, debt funds and professional intermediaries.
Identify opportunities to secure new instructions and grow the Birmingham position.
