Job summary

Burns Sheehan is partnered with a fast-growing technology platform scaling multiple engineering teams. This backend role is the technical anchor on the server side, owning APIs powering the customer–facing product and shaping how the domain evolves.

You’ll work in a high-throughput, event‑driven environment on AWS with Kafka, PostgreSQL and Redis, exploring Rust for performance, and delivering end-to-end impact from problem statement through to release.

Qualifications

• Strong backend engineering experience, Python preferred.
• Experience building production-grade APIs with performance in mind.
• Ability to contribute to systems design and architecture decisions.
• Product-focused mindset with user impact in mind.
• Experience with distributed systems or event-driven architectures a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the APIs powering the customer-facing product.
• Contribute from problem statement to release.
• Shape how the domain evolves.
• Act as the backend anchor within the squad.
• Work within high-throughput, event-driven AWS/Kafka/Stack.
