Job summary

Burns Sheehan is partnering with a UK-based SaaS business to hire a Senior Software Engineer. You will own backend development within a small, experienced team, shaping design decisions and contributing across the stack.

You'll build scalable Java/Spring Boot backends, work with AWS/React/SQL, and leverage AI-assisted tooling to drive modern, cloud-native solutions across an established platform.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Java & Spring Boot.
• Experience building scalable APIs and cloud-based applications.
• Solid SQL and AWS knowledge.
• Comfortable working across the stack, including React.
• Passion for clean code, modern engineering practices and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend development and contribute across the full stack.
• Collaborate with CTO and engineers to modernise the SaaS platform.
