Job summary

Midnite is a next-generation sports betting and gaming platform. We’re hiring Senior Backend Engineers to build and maintain backend services powering our product, develop APIs for web and mobile, and deliver robust, scalable code in a fast-paced deployment environment.

The stack is Python on AWS with Flask, Pytest, Mypy, Docker, PostgreSQL, SQS, S3, Terraform. Strong backend fundamentals and curiosity to learn the domain are key; prior gaming experience is not required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend fundamentals.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with modern API design and documentation.
• Comfortable operating cloud-native apps on AWS.

Responsibilities

• Own the full backend lifecycle—design, develop, test, monitor, and maintain services.
• Build clean, efficient, documented APIs for web and mobile apps.
• Champion code quality with focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Raise the engineering bar through code reviews and standards.
• Shape technical direction and participate in architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and external partners.
• Ship features in a continuous deployment environment.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
