Job summary

Midnite is a next-generation sports betting and gaming platform seeking a Lead Data Engineer in the UK (remote). This hands-on technical leadership role will set direction, own the design and scalability of our data infrastructure, enabling analysts and stakeholders to self-serve.

You will mentor engineers, drive data pipelines and models, support multi-territory expansion, and push for low-latency insights while improving reliability. Remote UK-friendly, £100k-£120k salary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading data platform engineering.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and hands-on coding.
• Ability to mentor engineers while remaining hands-on.
• Experience with data pipelines, modelling, orchestration, and analytics enablement.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy for data engineering and scalable stack.
• Design and evolve robust data pipelines and architecture.
• Build a self-serve platform for analysts and stakeholders.
• Shape architecture for multi-territory expansion.
• Oversee data models and BI-ready frameworks.
• Drive engineering best practices, testing, monitoring and automation.
• Lead code reviews and manage technical debt.
• Mentor engineers while staying hands-on.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to future-proof the platform.
