Job summary

Experian is seeking a Backend Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate robust backend systems. You will own the full lifecycle from requirements through deployment and production support, delivering scalable services and data-driven features.

The role emphasizes reliability, testing, and close collaboration with engineers, product, and data science teams. You will work in a hybrid setup with production systems in AWS, contributing to a high-visibility platform and a culture focused

Qualifications

• Solid backend experience using Python in production.
• Experience building and operating systems on AWS.
• Experience practising Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing.
• Experience with pair programming or collaborative development practices.
• Ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs clearly to different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the full Software Development Lifecycle from requirements to deployment and production support.
• Design, build, and operate backend services including APIs, integrations, reporting, and data-focused systems.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Product, and Data Scientists to shape solutions and enable data-driven capabilities.
• Manage systems in production, including monitoring, debugging, and continuous improvement.
• Deliver changes frequently and safely, balancing speed with quality and reliability.
• Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
