Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, build, and evolve scalable services for the Offers Domain. You will own end-to-end features from design through deployment, working with product, architecture, and cross-functional teams to deliver transparent, high-quality pricing and offers experiences across Expedia Group brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of software development experience with a focus on backend development in Java or Kotlin.
• Experience owning production services including design, API design, data modeling, deployment, monitoring, and operations.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and observable, testable designs.
• Experience mentoring engineers and implementing integration patterns, testing, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve robust, scalable, and secure backend services and applications across Expedia Group brands.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of complex features within the Offers Domain, from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Drive code quality, automated testing, observability, performance optimization, and reduction of technical debt.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers and guide integrations across teams.
• Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled solutions in production while adhering to patterns and guidelines.
