Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design and implement scalable, robust systems and services across domains. You will develop APIs, data models, and reliable architectures aligned to business goals in a cloud environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver full-stack solutions and lead architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards. On-call rotations and incident response are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, Java or Kotlin, and familiarity with the JVM stack and distributed systems.
• Experience building high-performance backend services in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• Experience leading engineering efforts for services at scale and familiarity with platform tooling or IaC.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
