Job summary

Expedia Group is seeking a Software Development Engineer II (Backend) to design, develop, and maintain high-throughput pricing services. You will implement caching, contribute to API design and data modeling for scalable microservices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years of relevant professional backend experience.
• Hands-on backend development with Java, Scala, Kotlin or similar languages.
• Experience with caching technologies (Redis/Couchbase/Memcached) and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing and operating distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka Streams or AWS Kinesis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency distributed backend services.
