Job summary

Referment is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its post-trade and reporting team. You will build systems used by operations and fund accounting, combining backend engineering with a close understanding of the business processes the software supports.

You will discuss requirements directly with stakeholders, work through design and carry the solution into production, shaping the platform's technical direction and making distributed, event-driven systems easier to monitor and maintain.

Qualifications

• At least five years of professional software development.
• Strong backend engineering and CS fundamentals; C#/.NET preferred.
• A STEM degree and disciplined testing, documentation, version control and maintainable design.
• Confidence gathering requirements and explaining technical choices to business users.
• Curiosity about development tools, including AI-assisted engineering.

Responsibilities

• Define problems with operations and stakeholders and propose practical software solutions.
• Take changes through architecture, data modelling, implementation, automated testing and release.
• Build backend services with predictable failure handling, with monitoring and alerting.
• Improve shared components and delivery tooling, including CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Contribute to design reviews and technical decisions balancing business needs.
