Job summary

NALA is building the financial backbone for global payments. We are seeking a Senior/Lead Engineer (payments/collections) to own architecture and delivery of the collections & treasury foundation, including on-demand vIBAN provisioning and customer-facing APIs.

You will collaborate with product and engineering teams to ship scalable, reliable, and auditable systems that support diverse payment strategies across regions, while maintaining high standards of quality and operation.

Qualifications

• Have worked with Go in a production environment.
• Design systems for financial-grade reliability, auditability, and operational readiness.
• Translate business intent into technically sound requirements.
• Apply API design fundamentals: consistency, versioning, backward compatibility, good developer experience.
• Design for maintainability using solid principles (single responsibility, separation of concerns).
• Experience owning complex backend or distributed systems end to end.

Responsibilities

• Own key architecture and implementation decisions for the collections & treasury foundation.
• Lead design work (RFCs, diagrams, API and system specs) and align on solutions before building.
• Partner with PMs and stakeholders to translate business intent into technical requirements.
• Design and build customer-facing and internal APIs to support collections and payment strategies.
• Build reliable infrastructure for vIBAN provisioning and collections orchestration.
• Drive engineering quality across API standards, testing strategy, and maintainability.
• Manage delivery by breaking down complex work and sequencing milestones.
• Join our on-call rota once a month for 1 week (fully compensated).
