Job summary

NALA in London is seeking a Senior/Lead Engineer to own the collections and treasury backbone. You will design and build APIs, provisioning for vIBANs, and the orchestration layer, partnering with product managers to translate business needs into robust financial systems.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery of backend or distributed systems in production.
• Experience owning end-to-end systems from design to operation.
• Ability to work with PMs and stakeholders to shape solutions.
• Experience making pragmatic trade-offs in startups, balancing speed and correctness.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and implementation decisions for collections & treasury foundation.
• Lead RFCs, diagrams, API specs to align on solutions before build.
• Translate business intent into technically sound requirements with stakeholders.
• Design and build customer-facing/internal APIs for collections and payment strategies.
• Build reliable infrastructure for vIBAN provisioning and collections orchestration.
• Improve API quality, testing strategy, and code review rigor.
• Manage delivery by breaking down complex work and sequencing milestones.
• Balance speed with correctness in financial systems.
