NALA is building Payments for the Next Billion, and we’re looking for a Senior/Lead Engineer to own the Collections & Treasury backbone.

You will design and implement key architecture, lead RFCs and API specs, and build customer-facing and internal APIs to support diverse payment strategies, including vIBAN provisioning. Join a VC-backed, fast-paced environment in London, collaborating with PMs and engineers to ship reliable financial systems.

Qualifications

• Have worked with Go in a production environment.
• Understand financial-grade systems, including correctness, reliability, auditability.
• Design principles that drive maintainability (single responsibility, separation of concerns).
• API fundamentals: consistency, versioning, backward compatibility, developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Own key architecture and implementation decisions for the collections & treasury foundation.
• Lead design work (RFCs, diagrams, API and system specs) to align on solutions before building.
• Design and build customer-facing and internal APIs to support collections and payment strategies.
• Manage delivery by breaking down complex work and sequencing milestones end to end.
• Make pragmatic trade-offs to move fast while protecting correctness in financial systems.
