Job summary

Xe is hiring a senior back-end engineer to own end-to-end backend delivery. You will design, implement, and operate services that move money, manage multi-currency balances, and support onboarding, KYC, FX, settlement, and related operations.

You will lead cross-functional delivery with product, compliance, and operations, mentor mid-level engineers, and drive architectural decisions. The role requires strong backend skills, leadership, and a focus on reliability and modern stack adoption.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years building production backend services.
• Proficient in C# / .NET; other OOP languages welcome.
• Solid SQL fundamentals.
• Experience writing and maintaining tests.
• Daily use of AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code).
• Production AWS experience with deployment, CI/CD, and services like SQS/DynamoDB/S3/ECS/Lambda.
• Strong system design with microservices and event-driven patterns.
• Payments, FX, or regulated-industry experience.
• Proven technical leadership: mentoring engineers and leading design reviews.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and own backend services that move money and manage multi-currency balances.
• Lead cross-functional delivery from problem framing through launch.
• Lead the build of partner integrations and settlement infrastructure.
• Own production health, observability, on-call, and incident response.
• Lead design reviews, set technical direction, and mentor engineers.
• Use AI tools daily across the SDLC and drive modernization with architects.
