Job summary

Diligent is seeking a hands-on senior software engineer to own complex backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS. You’ll shape robust solutions, ship reliable services at scale, and mentor fellow engineers within a collaborative product engineering team.

You’ll work on secure microservices, contribute to design and architecture decisions, and use AI-assisted tools to accelerate coding, while applying sound judgment for privacy, security and cost.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of professional software engineering delivering production systems.
• Strong backend development with Node.js and TypeScript, API/microservice design.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience and automated testing/deployment practices.
• Experience with SQL, Git and Docker-based workflows in CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of AI-assisted engineering tools and LLM concepts with caution.
• Clear communication, collaboration, and mentoring to engineers in the team.
• Willingness to participate in design discussions and own complex features end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver complex backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Contribute to design and architecture discussions prioritising delivery, maintainability, and security.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing, and day-to-day collaboration.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into reliable solutions.
• Use AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and research with sound judgment.
• Improve service reliability, observability, monitoring, and testing practices.
