Job summary

Vanguard, a global investment firm, is seeking a backend engineer to develop authentication services and RESTful APIs using TypeScript, Node.js and NestJS. You will deploy and monitor applications in AWS, manage production systems, and contribute to CI/CD and testing practices.

You will collaborate with product, security and engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions in a hybrid setup with 3 days in the London office.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with TypeScript, Node.js and NestJS or Express APIs.
• Hands-on AWS experience: ECS, Lambda, CloudFront, S3, Secrets Manager.
• Infrastructure as Code: CloudFormation, CDK or Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance backend services supporting authentication and MFA platforms.
• Design, build and maintain RESTful APIs using TypeScript, Node.js and NestJS.
• Deploy, monitor and support applications within AWS using Infrastructure as Code.
• Maintain production services, including updates, migrations and operations.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for reliability.
• Collaborate with product, security and engineering teams to deliver secure solutions.
