Job summary

Spotify is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Subscriptions Mission in London or Stockholm. You will architect, develop and operate Java services powering conversion, retention and upsell journeys, collaborating with squads and internal partners on scalable backend systems running on Google Cloud Platform.

You bring 5+ years in backend engineering with Java, experience designing cloud-native services, API work with stakeholders, and a growth mindset aligned with Spotify's mission.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in Java.
• Strong CS fundamentals and building complex backend services at scale.
• Experience designing cloud-native software components on GCP/AWS and similar providers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop and operate Java services powering conversion and upsell journeys.
• Collaborate with squads and partners to design scalable backend systems, data models and APIs on Google Cloud Platform.
• Be a technical leader, mentor and contributor in an autonomous, cross-functional agile squad.
• Collaborate with managers and product managers to scale automation and platform capabilities.
