Job summary

Folks Finance seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to build the backend services of its DeFi applications, including smart contract work, blockchain indexing, and robust API design. You will design and maintain microservices, collaborate across teams, and manage AWS infrastructure in a fast-paced, security-conscious environment.

The role emphasizes NodeJS/TypeScript expertise, experience with Solidity, GraphQL indexing, and modern DevOps practices within an agile team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficiency in NodeJS with best practices.
• Strong TypeScript skills and typing discipline.
• Ability to read and understand Solidity contracts; security-focused.
• Experience with GraphQL for indexing blockchain data.
• Hands-on AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch).
• Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tooling.
• Git version control expertise.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent).
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and agile work style.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain smart contracts and backend APIs.
• Design and maintain robust microservices and data storage solutions.
• Develop and monitor blockchain indexing and data pipelines.
