Job summary

Freetrade Limited is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to lead end-to-end delivery of complex features and scale our next-generation fintech platform. You’ll drive design, mentor teammates, and set engineering standards while solving challenging problems.

You will work primarily with TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL on GCP, with a hands-on role in on-call rotations and interview processes. This role blends hands-on coding with technical leadership in a hybrid London/Budapest

Qualifications

Experience leading backend features end-to-end.
Strong problem-solving and scalable systems design.
Proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js.
Experience with PostgreSQL and cloud platforms (GCP).
Excellent collaboration and mentorship skills.
Ability to work in a hybrid London/Budapest environment.

Responsibilities

Lead features from design to post-production and validation.
Level up the team through technical workshops, pair programming, and mentorship.
Define and uphold company-wide standards for code reviews and engineering practices.
Act as a senior escalation point for high-priority issues and participate in on-call rotation.
Conduct technical interviews to identify and hire top-tier engineering talent.
Constantly evaluate the tech landscape to improve development processes and tools.
