Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for our London team to build and operate the crypto custody infrastructure. You will manage AWS-based systems, blockchain node operations, and third-party custodial integrations, while ensuring security and reliability of critical services.

You’ll contribute to containerized deployments with Kubernetes and Docker, write Python/Go services, and implement monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience running cloud infrastructure (AWS) in production.
• Experience managing blockchain nodes in production.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar configuration management and IaC tooling.
• Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid Python and/or Go production experience.
• Strong security focus – key management and access control.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent monitoring stack.

Responsibilities

• Build and run the AWS infrastructure behind custody, key management, and blockchain node operations.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration management (Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
• Run blockchain nodes across networks and keep them healthy and available.
• Write and maintain services in Python for infrastructure management and wallet operations.
• Own integrations with third-party custodians.
• Build out Kubernetes and Docker deployments as we containerize the custody stack.
• Set up monitoring and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana) to detect issues early.
• Apply security controls and standards across systems, including access control and incident response.
• Provide on-call support to keep custody systems reliable.
