Job summary

Robinhood in London is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer for Custody Services to own the crypto infrastructure, wallet and key management workflows, and third-party integrations. You will work at the boundary of infrastructure and security, building scalable systems that safeguard assets for millions of customers.

The role requires in-person presence in London with at least 3 days per week on-site and participation in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience running cloud infrastructure (AWS) in production.
• Experience managing blockchain nodes in production.
• Hands-on with configuration management tooling (Ansible, Terraform) and IaC.
• Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid Python and/or Go skills with production experience.
• Strong security focus – key management and access control are critical.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent monitoring stack.
• Experience integrating with third-party custodians like BitGo or Fireblocks.

Responsibilities

• Build and run the AWS infrastructure behind custody, key management, and blockchain node operations.
• Automate infrastructure and configuration management to reduce manual ops.
• Run blockchain nodes across supported networks and keep them healthy and available.
• Write and maintain Python services for infrastructure management and wallet operations.
• Own integrations with third-party custodians.
• Develop and deploy Kubernetes and Docker containers for the custody stack.
• Set up monitoring and alerting to detect issues before customers are impacted.
• Apply security controls and standards across access, key management, and incident response.
• Provide on-call support to ensure custody systems remain reliable.
