Job summary

Xe is rebuilding the platform layer behind cross-border payments and seeks a mid-level back-end engineer to own problems end-to-end—from API design to production reliability and launch. You will work in a small team with direct access to product, compliance, and operations, building services that move money in production and modernizing the backend stack using AI-assisted tooling.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years building production backend services, end-to-end.
• Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET; other OOP languages welcome.
• SQL and relational database fundamentals.
• Writing and maintaining tests.
• Daily use of agentic coding tools across the SDLC.
• Production experience with AWS and services like SQS / DynamoDB / S3 / ECS / Lambda.
• Strong system design fundamentals and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services that move money and manage multi-currency balances.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, and operations from framing to launch.
• Build and operate partner integrations and settlement infrastructure.
• Own services in production: reliability, observability, on-call, incident response.
• Use AI-assisted tools daily to evolve the platform and migrate legacy services.
