Job summary

Xe is building the platform layer for cross-border payments, moving money across markets with a tight-knit team and direct access to product, compliance, and operations. You will own end-to-end backend delivery, from API design to production reliability, while advancing a modern stack with AI-assisted tooling.

We seek a senior back-end engineer with 6–10+ years of production experience, strong C#/.NET skills, and a track record in system design and leadership.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10+ years building production backend services.
• Strong backend proficiency in C# / .NET; other OO languages welcome.
• SQL and relational database fundamentals.
• Ability to write and maintain tests.
• Daily use of AI coding tools across the SDLC.
• Production experience with AWS and modern deployment practices.
• Experience in system design, microservices, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience in payments, FX, or regulated-industry domains.

Responsibilities

• Design and own backend services that move money and multi-currency balances.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with product, compliance, and operations from framing to launch.
• Build partner integrations and settlement infrastructure.
• Own production health: reliability, observability, on-call, incident response.
• Lead design reviews and mentor mid-level engineers.
• Use AI tools daily and modernize legacy services with architects.
