Job summary

Camunda seeks a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own automated reliability testing and chaos engineering for Camunda 8. You will break things in safe environments to strengthen the platform, guide product direction, and collaborate with friendly colleagues who live our FAITH values.

You’ll design and run chaos experiments, improve load testing and observability, and introduce new tooling to boost reliability. Global teams collaborate on scalable solutions.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in backend software engineering (Java).
Proven drive to experiment, learn new tech, and conduct automated reliability and chaos testing in distributed environments.
Deep enthusiasm for improving performance and fault-tolerance in production systems.
Autonomous, pragmatic problem-solving skills with an ability to guide others.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and execute automated chaos experiments and reliability tests.
Investigate and debug potential failures or performance regressions in Java-based products.
Improve load testing, chaos engineering, and observability infrastructure.
Collaborate with QA and engineering and influence roadmaps.
Advocate for user-centric reliability and learn new technologies.
