Job summary

Rain is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (EMEA) to join a remote backend team. You will manage diverse areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners, and work with international product and engineering teams.

The role focuses on building scalable, highly available services in a distributed microservices environment, with a strong emphasis on API design, cloud technologies, and observability.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering efforts to meet ambitious targets.
• Design and implement reliable systems in a fully distributed microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to ensure future scalability.
• Enforce observability with logging, metrics and alerting systems.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation (architectures, APIs, workflows).
• Continuously monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
