Additional Resources is seeking a Software Developer/Engineer to design, develop and maintain high-performance backend solutions using C++ and Java in Linux environments. The role involves leading technical development, mentoring juniors, and contributing to architecture while ensuring security and performance.

Qualifications

• Valid SC security clearance at time of application.
• Approx 5 years of commercial software development using C++ with some Java, ideally in Linux environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience optimizing software performance in Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications using C++ and Java within Linux environments.
• Lead the technical development of software components, services and APIs.
• Produce reliable, scalable, maintainable code with focus on performance and security.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers.
• Contribute to software architecture, decisions and roadmaps.
• Review code and enforce engineering standards and practices.
• Diagnose and resolve complex software issues with third-party dependencies.
• Build and support RESTful APIs, microservices and distributed applications.
• Utilise debugging tools to improve quality and performance.
• Containerise applications with Docker for deployment and scalability.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.
