Job summary

Additional Resources Ltd. is seeking a Software Developer / Software Engineer to design, develop and maintain high-performance backend solutions in C++ and Java within Linux environments. You will lead technical development of components, services and APIs and provide mentoring to junior colleagues.

The role requires SC security clearance, approx. 5 years of commercial experience, and a degree in Computer Science or related field.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong experience with backend development on Linux.
• Proven experience with C++ and Java in production.
• Knowledge of software architecture, design patterns and OO programming.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend applications using C++ and Java in Linux environments.
• Lead technical development of software components, services and APIs.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level developers.
• Contribute to software architecture decisions and roadmaps.
• Review code and promote engineering standards and best practices.
• Diagnose and resolve complex software issues and integration challenges.
• Build and support RESTful APIs, microservices and distributed systems.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes.
