Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Senior/Principal Backend Engineer for the Cortex Cloud AppSec Platform. You will own end‑to‑end architectural initiatives, design and operate large‑scale distributed systems, and drive AI‑driven engineering to accelerate development.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands‑on backend software engineering experience with ownership of production systems.
• Experience designing, building, and operating large‑scale distributed systems in production.
• Strong backend development in TypeScript/Node.js, Go, Python, Java, or similar.
• Cloud‑native architectures on GCP or AWS; SQL and NoSQL data modeling and performance.
• Experience with AI‑assisted engineering tools and cross‑team collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead critical end‑to‑end initiatives across multiple teams and domains.
• Design and evolve distributed systems and data infrastructure for large enterprises.
• Write, review production code, and raise the engineering bar for quality and observability.
• Drive performance, reliability, and production readiness improvements.
