Job summary

Junior is building the AI operating system for investment research and is hiring a Backend Engineer based in London. You will design and scale systems powering AI-driven research, enabling operations and sales teams to deliver products efficiently.

This is a systems-level role for engineers who love data flows, orchestration, and performance across distributed systems. You’ll own architecture of internal data systems, stitch together AI infrastructure, and ship backend capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Python or TypeScript development and production-grade code.
• Experience building scalable backend systems for high-throughput data and AI workflows.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL data modeling, performance, and reliability.
• Experience designing APIs and internal tooling to support product and customers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale backend systems to support high-throughput LLM interactions and vector search.
• Build and optimize data pipelines, retrieval, and orchestration across services.
• Deliver production-grade interfaces and automation across product, CRM, and financial systems.
• Work with the team to shape engineering culture and infrastructure decisions.
