Job summary

Fanatics Betting & Gaming is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to own core trading services, building high‑performance Go/Java backends for a regulated platform. You will shape architecture for order processing, market data, and trade lifecycle, while advancing AI-assisted development and ensuring robust auditability and compliance in a fast‑growing environment.

The role supports 24/7 operations, on-call rotations, and collaboration with DevOps/Platform teams to maintain scalability

Qualifications

• 4+ years in scalable backend or distributed systems.
• Experience in regulated exchange or financial infra preferred.
• Production Java experience; Go experience or willingness.
• Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, Kinesis).
• Strong data integrity and transactional modelling in PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, testing, and deployment of high-performance backend services.
• Work on Go, Java, Kotlin services and modernise Java codebase.
• Architecture for order processing, market data distribution, and trade lifecycle management.
• Maintain reliable data pipelines with full audit trails across trading activity.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations and define SLOs and incident response.
