Job summary

Fanatics Markets, the real‑money prediction and trading app, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own architecture and hands‑on delivery across frontend and backend systems. You will help shape the platform’s technical foundations while leading teams through complex initiatives and ensuring reliability at scale.

You’ll work across React, Next.js, TypeScript, Go, and data infrastructure, partnering with product, design, and infra teams to balance speed, quality, and security.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering high‑quality scalable web/backend systems.
• Experience leading complex initiatives from ambiguity to measurable outcomes.
• Strong architectural judgment across frontend and backend domains.
• Ability to influence across product, platform, and infra teams.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for major areas of the Markets platform across teams.
• Lead design and delivery of scalable systems and customer experiences, with hands‑on work in React/Next.js/TypeScript or Go.
• Resolve ambiguous engineering problems and turn them into clear proposals and plans.
• Own initiatives end‑to‑end from discovery to deployment and iteration.
• Partner with product, design, platform, and infrastructure teams to balance customer experience, performance, security and delivery speed.
• Define architecture and integration patterns for frontend, backend, and event‑driven systems.
• Guide design of experimentation capabilities, including feature flags and A/B tests.
• Anticipate scaling constraints and drive improvements through completion.
• Raise engineering standards via design reviews, testing strategies, observability, and safe deployment practices.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical leaders across teams.
• Establish and evolve AI‑assisted development standards and validation strategies.
• Measure and improve engineering effectiveness and delivery speed.
