Job summary

Deducta is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our London team. You’ll design, build and ship high-quality backend systems and data pipelines that power our enterprise data intelligence platform. You’ll collaborate with customers, shape architecture, and own features end-to-end in a hybrid work setting with two in-person days weekly. Salary is £120k base plus equity, with visa sponsorship available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Strong backend fundamentals and experience building reliable, maintainable systems, ideally with complex or messy data.
• Sound architectural judgement, and the ability to explain the trade-offs behind your decisions.
• Track record of owning problems from investigation through to production.
• A solid grasp of software design principles. .NET and TypeScript help, but fundamentals matter more than a stack match.
• High standards for testing, code quality and managing technical debt.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and ship high-quality backend systems that power Deducta.
• Work with customers to understand their problems, and bring fresh insights and ideas that shape the platform.
• Develop reliable, scalable data and AI pipelines that ingest and process enterprise data.
• Build internal tools and models that get more value from enterprise data and improve how we deliver our product.
• Expand the range and depth of data Deducta can access, building a more complete picture of how large businesses operate.
• Push the boundaries of applied AI, both in the product and in how we build it.
• Own problems end to end, from definition to deployment, making sound calls on architecture, trade-offs, performance and reliability along the way.
