Job summary

J.P. Morgan Personal Investing is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to lead backend development on a Spring Boot platform, building robust libraries for product teams.

You will work hands-on on asynchronous architectures and partner with SDLC and Infrastructure to drive standardization and best practices across Investments technology. Responsibilities include designing scalable components, mentoring engineers, promoting secure coding, and guiding AI-assisted tooling adoption across teams

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with building modern APIs, microservice architectures, and distributed asynchronous systems.
• Experience with design patterns and secure coding practices.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend libraries and frameworks using Java and Spring Boot for asynchronous architectures.
• Build scalable, reliable, and secure components that support product engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product teams to deliver solutions that improve productivity.
• Standardise development workflows, tooling, and processes across Platform squads.
• Promote engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
• Provide technical direction and mentorship to the team.
• Tackle complex challenges and design strategic solutions.
• Enable knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
• Collaborate with SDLC and Infrastructure to deliver Platform as a Product.
