Job summary

J.P. Morgan Personal Investing is seeking a back-end engineer to deliver cloud-native microservices and secure fintech solutions. You will design, implement, test, and support software across the full lifecycle in an agile, customer-focused environment.

Candidates should have strong Java/Kotlin experience, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and familiarity with AI-assisted development tools. Collaboration with cross-functional teams across identity, payments, and core banking will be essential.

Qualifications

• Proven Java programming concepts with hands-on experience in back-end engineering.
• Experience as a back-end software engineer in agile, customer-facing environments.
• Hands-on experience with a JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin).
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web technologies.
• Experience with relational databases and full SDLC activities.
• Strong communication skills in English and ability to work in distributed teams.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools and evaluating AI outputs for quality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end cloud-native microservice solutions using modern tech stacks.
• Design and estimate costs for Java/Kotlin-based solutions.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests; support production and incident management.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools while ensuring code correctness and security.
• Collaborate across product teams to drive scalable, secure engineering outcomes.
