Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the J.P. Morgan Personal Investing backend platform in London. You will design, develop, and maintain Java/Spring Boot frameworks that power scalable financial services and APIs.

You will collaborate with product engineering and infrastructure teams to drive standardisation, best practices, and technical direction, mentoring engineers and delivering high-quality software in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience building APIs in microservices architectures.
• Experience with Maven and Gradle in SDLC standardisation.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Excellent communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive change and influence technical direction.
• Understanding importance of controls and compliance in regulated organisations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend frameworks and libraries using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build components that provide out of the box implementations of functional and non-functional requirements.
• Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to understand their needs and deliver solutions that improve their productivity and engineering experience.
• Tackle complex technical challenges, design innovative strategic solutions and provide guidance to the team.
• Close collaboration with SDLC and Infrastructure teams to enable delivery of Platform as a Product
