Job summary

Rackspace Technology seeks a Senior Azure Systems Engineer to design, build, and operate enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and hybrid environments. You will bridge traditional systems administration with modern cloud operations, focusing on OS management, security, automation, and disaster recovery.

You will work with Azure IaaS components, ExpressRoute, and Azure Arc, monitor performance, and implement RBAC and identity services.

Qualifications

5+ years of systems engineering experience, with Azure-focused enterprise workloads.
Experience architecting and supporting hybrid-cloud environments on Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

Build and manage scalable hybrid architectures linking on-premises systems to Azure using Arc/ExpressRoute.
Oversee OS deployment, licensing, patching, and security for Windows Server and Linux in Azure.
Manage identity services (Entra ID, Entra Domain Services, RBAC) and directory sync.
Create automation with PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep templates to reduce manual tasks.
Design and test disaster recovery using Azure Backup and ASR.
Monitor OS-level performance and configure alerts with Azure Monitor.
