Job summary

Rackspace Technology seeks a Senior Azure Systems Engineer to build, operate, and maintain enterprise-grade infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, including hybrid-cloud environments. You will manage OS, identity services, automation, and monitoring across Linux/Windows, ensuring high uptime and secure configurations.

The role emphasizes Azure IaaS deployments, disaster recovery planning, and infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep templates, and Azure Arc integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of systems engineering experience, with 3+ years architecting enterprise Azure workflows.
• Experience in managing hybrid-cloud environments and identity services.
• Strong hands-on with Windows Server, Linux, networking, and security patching.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage enterprise-grade Azure infrastructure across on-prem, legacy datacenters, and cloud.
• Deploy, configure, license, and patch enterprise virtualised infrastructure in Azure.
• Manage Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD, RBAC, and directory services.
• Write automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI; use ARM/Bicep templates.
• Design and test backup and disaster recovery using Azure Backup and ASR.
• Monitor OS performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and configure Azure Monitor alerts.
