Job summary

Ascent/Managed Services team at Acuity Analytics seeks a Level 3 Cloud Support Engineer to own complex Azure incidents and platform improvements. You’ll mentor junior engineers, guide migrations and optimisations, and influence automation and security governance across large Azure environments.

Based in the UK (or Malta, Bulgaria or Portugal), you’ll work with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and service reliability. A 24x7 on-call rota is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.
• 3+ years' experience within Managed Services or multi-customer env.
• Hands-on with Azure IaaS and PaaS in enterprise contexts.
• Strong knowledge of RBAC, CA, PIM, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy.
• Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Grafana, and KQL.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates.
• PowerShell and Azure CLI scripting for automation.
• CI/CD via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Azure Lighthouse and Microsoft Partner Center.
• Incident leadership, RCAs, and problem management.
• ITIL-aligned incident/problem/change management.
• Mentoring Level 1/2 engineers; strong stakeholder skills.
• Ability to manage multiple customer environments and priorities.
• Willingness to 24x7 on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior escalation point for complex Azure incidents.
• Lead major incident responses and root cause analyses.
• Mentor Level 1/2 engineers with technical guidance.
• Maintain and optimise customer Azure infrastructure and services.
• Troubleshoot across compute, networking, storage, identity, apps, security.
• Implement security, governance, and identity controls.
• Design and improve monitoring/alerting with Azure Monitor and Grafana.
• Develop IaC with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell, Azure CLI, Power Automate.
• Support migrations, modernization, backup, and DR.
• Run platform health reviews and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Support via Azure Lighthouse and Partner Center.
• Contribute to runbooks, docs, and continual service improvement.
