Job summary

Data Careers is seeking an Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer for a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, hybrid working with on-site presence in Southampton 2-3 days per month. The role focuses on hands-on Azure infrastructure management, governance, automation, and hybrid identity in a public sector environment.

The ideal candidate will manage tenants, subscriptions and resources, implement secure and scalable cloud solutions, and contribute to on-going modernisation of cloud-first services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Azure experience managing tenants, subscriptions and resources.
• Experience with hybrid Microsoft environments and governance.
• Knowledge of Entra ID / Azure AD and Conditional Access policies.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support Azure tenants, subscriptions, resource groups and cloud resources.
• Configure and improve Azure infrastructure services including VMs, storage, networking, DNS and load balancing.
• Support Azure governance, access control, security, cost management and operational best practices.
• Design, implement and support secure, scalable Azure cloud solutions.
• Develop and maintain Azure Automation Runbooks and PowerShell scripts to improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity and service availability improvements.
• Mentor and support other engineers, acting as escalation point for complex issues.
