Job summary

UBDS Group’s Rayo unit seeks an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong AWS expertise to design, build and operate scalable data platforms in AWS. This hands-on role combines technical ownership with client engagement and leadership across engineering teams.

You will collaborate with architects, security specialists and client teams to deliver robust data solutions, set standards and mentor colleagues while ensuring governance and data protection across projects.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience as a Data Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong experience delivering data solutions on AWS.
• Proficient with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, Redshift, EMR).
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience designing scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and data processing workflows.
• Understanding of data lakes, data warehouses and modern data platform architectures.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (ideally Terraform).
• CI/CD and automated testing for data workloads.
• Knowledge of data security, governance and access control.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers in multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent troubleshooting and client-facing communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable data platforms and pipelines within AWS.
• Develop robust ETL/ELT processes for ingesting and transforming data from multiple sources.
• Design data models and storage approaches for analytical and operational needs.
• Develop solutions using Python, SQL and modern data engineering frameworks.
• Apply infrastructure-as-code and automation for deployment and management.
• Build data quality, monitoring and observability into solutions.
• Ensure security, governance and data protection considerations are embedded.
• Mentor and support other engineers and promote knowledge sharing.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide recommendations.
